Partner Warmup Drills
(15 minutes)
- Side control > KOB > uke turns in > switch to seatbelt > uke turtles > back take
- Guillotines from seated
- Kimuras from closed guard
Live Positional
(10 minutes)
The Big Cheese; switch out after 3 wins. The cheese has closed guard. Win by first to score. Uke can also win by escaping.
Hip Bump Sweep
- Get inside control & ideally get uke to post on the ground
- Slightly open guard and shrimp out a little, turning onto your side, getting up on your elbow
- Sit up, reaching over uke's opposite shoulder (to trap the elbow), turning the elbow into a straight-arm post, turning our leg position into an 'S'.
- Drive off the planted foot, drive your hips into the side of uke's chest, pivot off your other knee, complete the sweep

- Get inside position first before opening your guard.

Kimura from Hip Bump
- Attempt a Hip Bump Sweep
- Uke posts to defend
- Reach over the elbow & hook your hand back through
- Jump your hips out to the side, pulling uke back down with your shoulder/upper arm on their shoulder
- Close guard if desired & finish the kimura

- Get your hips out to the side!

Guillotine from Hip Bump
- Attempt a Hip Bump Sweep
- Uke drives back into you to defend
- Scoot your hips back to make space & turn your reaching arm into a guillotine grip
- Close and finish

- Make enough space to get your grip in
- Get over uke's neck / keep their head crunched
