Anaconda from Front Headlock

May 16, 2023
  1. Start in top turtle with a front headlock. Your choking-side knee is grounded and your opposite foot is posted.
  2. Move your (gable) grip to uke's armpit with your outside hand palm up
  3. Drag your outside forearm in, pinching your elbows together. Your head is sliding to the outside. Your elbow should move relative to your hip, don't tilt your entire body. You can drive in to lift uke's elbow off the ground to make it easier to collapse.
  4. Slide into the anaconda grip, locking below the shoulder.
  5. Drop your ear next to uke's shoulder and roll that way.
  6. Keep your elbows pinched together and pulled into your chest, walk towards uke's legs, sliding/driving your chest under uke's head.

Keys

  • Get a good pinch & head control to make the roll and finish easier.
