Partner Warmup Drills
(15 minutes)
- Side control > KOB > uke turns in > switch to seatbelt
- Do #1 and add > uke turtles > back take
Live Positional
(10 minutes)
The Big Cheese; switch out after 3 wins. The cheese has back control, two hooks, seatbelt, grounded on the underhook side, head underneath. Uke wins by escaping out of back. Bottom mount is an escape.
Straightjacket Back Control
- Start with square back control, both hooks in, seatbelt.
- Roll to the underhook side. Switch to a beltline bottom hook or body triangle and keep your head underneath uke's head.
- Attack an RNC with your overhook. When uke grip fights with their same side hand, get a cross grip with your underhook hand.
- Get a cross grip with your overhook hand.
- Leg trap their top arm. You might need to hip out for this. Trap with ankles crossed high or a body triangle.
- Transfer bottom hand control to your underhook hand. You can grip their wrist or the outside of their palm.
- One handed dig an RNC.
Keys
- Stay tight chest-to-back.
- Don't cut too much of an angle or you risk letting them scoot down & out.
