The Big Cheese; switch out after 3 wins. Start in top turtle with double unders. Escape or score.
Rear Bodylock Tilt
- Arm drag to a far hip cover and then pummel your dragging arm to an underhook across uke's waist.
- Control here with a gable grip at the far front corner of uke's hips and and the side of your head on uke's back. Use your lats to suck in the waistline grip and use good posture to drive your head against uke's back.
- Shift your weight and tilt your grip into your non-waistline forearm, 'chopping' uke at the hip joint. Get all of uke's weight into that leg.
- Gentle foot block and tilt / rotate uke down to the ground
Variations
- A more dynamic version is slightly lifting with the tilt (scooping motion) & using a raised knee to trip.
Keys
- Use this if uke is trying to get their hips forward. This isn't great if uke is bent forward.
Double Under Turtle Back Take
- Start in top turtle with a double under gable grip.
- Use your weight to open up the near side for your near side knee to get into uke's armpit and keep uke from turning to face you.
- Shoot your other knee around uke while you insert your near side hook.
- You now have opposite corners of uke's torso controlled. Switch to seatbelt if desired. Get your second hook.
Variations
- You can use similar mechanics with the rear bodylock if uke is standing and leaning forwards.
Keys
- Don't let uke out-rotate you. Use your grips and weight to hold them back until you shoot for the far side.
